After most 'talking-head' courses, graduates leave with merely a lot of theory and return home to a blank computer screen.
Not WAMO Workshops.
We have three templated workshops: 1. Funding Development for Nonprofits (two consecutive days, usually Saturday thru Sunday, 8 a.m. thru 5 p.m., including a catered lunch hour together for Q&A). $995* 2. The For-Profit's Synergistic 'Partnership' with a 'Separate-and-Apart' Nonprofit (two consecutive days, usually Wednesday thru Thursday, 8 a.m. thru 5 p.m., including a catered lunch hour together for Q&A). $995* 3. Designing & Marketing Successful Nonprofit Web Sites (6 1/2 hours held live in Reno on Wednesdays, and teleconferenced on demand to other locations with pre-E-mailed workbooks to follow along) $285
*Group discounts and opportunities for nonprofit organizations to host and pre-sell a WAMO Workshop in their respective communities are available (see the 'First Step' navigation button in the vertical navigation bar)
We provide twelve 'Quick-Start' Reports that offer a nonprofit our 'Dead-Eye Dozen' effective ways for an organization to make an immediate difference in their funding development. We believe these twelve funding methods will give you the best 'bang for your buck' in terms of manpower and monetary investment. Just one individual can initiate each of these twelve methods and start getting quick results. Click here for details.
After our intense 2-day Funding Development Workshops for Nonprofits, our graduates walk out with: A.) a comprehensive funding development plan synergistically emplementing all four pistons of the funding development engine (grantsmanship, corporate sponsorship, planned gifts, and fundraising), B.) a 'core' funding development committee with the four sub-committees to implement the plan C.) a list of viable private foundation prospects to fund your grant proposal, D.) a list of viable public sector program prospects for federal domestic assistance, E.) a list of viable corporate sponsorship prospects (to include non-monetary assistance such as loaned executives and employees, donated equipment, donated products, and more), F.) an effective Web site design that incorporates features unique to a nonprofit site, G.) a written, properly formatted, targeted (not theoretical) grant proposal rough draft with which you'll merely need to fill in the blanks of the four critical, seven sections (Introduction, Assessment of Needs, Objectives, Methods, Evaluation, Future Funding, and Budget) instead of being downloaded with grant proposal-writing 'theory' and hitting a blank monitor the day after the workshop is over, plus H.) a step-by-step list of short-term action steps and 'critical path chart' to initiate the long-term plan following the workshop.
After our challenging 2-day For-Profits' Synergistic 'Partnership' with a 'Separate-and-Apart' Nonprofit Workshop, graduates 'hit the ground running' with: A.) refined Web site-assisted sales presentation tools, B.) marketing media combinations that create powerful synergy, C.) an understanding of how to develop new revenue streams that allow you to avoid self-imposed 'caps' in earnings, and D.) a workbook that provides an organized step-by-step path through the pitfalls, and E.) a 'risk managing' org chart that builds on the strengths of a for-profit/nonprofit collaboration.
After our fast-paced Web Site Workshops, our graduates walk out with: A.) a clear design for their sites, B.) a list of essential function modules needed to navigate their sites efficiently, C.) an understanding of how to synergistically utilize the online and off-line marketing media to drive traffic to their Web sites, and D.) a 38-page workbook that takes them step-by-step through a highly effective Web Site Launch and Coordinated Marketing Campaign.
Likewise, we can custom design a non-templated workshop to meet your specific needs for class duration and funding development subject matter.
We can actually design your Web site 'from scratch' for you, incorporating all the essential functions and features that discerning 'surfers' expect in an efficient, effective Web site. We use the mnemonic '3E2M' to describe what a successful Web site must be: engaging, entertaining, educational, motivating, and memorable.
And finally,
OTHER SERVICES RENDERED
We also provide other services that can be described as:
@ Conference/teleconference consulting and mentoring: with Boards, Advisory Councils, funding sub-committees, volunteers, staff, and even donors. One example is the Webinar we conduct for a Board that spells out the features and benefits of your organization becoming a 30/20 Host for a local WAMO Workshop. We arrange a date for your Board to consider the notion, usually at a regularly-scheduled Board meeting at which you provide an online computer and monitor that ‘sees’ what is on our screen and we communicate verbally via a speaker phone in the middle of the Board Room table. We have a fourteen-minute PowerPoint presentation that works well for this purpose then we answer questions. There is no charge for this service and your only cost is for the long-distance phone call.
@ Pre-submission document reviews: for grant proposals, corporate sponsorship letters, fundraising Chairperson Planning Blueprints, budgets, vendor inserts, Web site designs, etc. Hey, let’s avoid the pitfalls, mistakes, faulty assumptions, and time-consuming wrong conclusions by drawing upon our thirty-four years of experience and our pain-staking development of what I call ‘the most comprehensive compilation of dumb-ass proposals and schemes on the planet.’
@ Retreat Facilitations: to create a top-to-bottom ‘funding consciousness.'
@ Board of Trustees ‘Realignment’ Meetings: (Regrettably, these are often brutal, intense, sad and angry 'shout fests requiring 'iron hand' facilitation to the bitter end -- to resolution. Described by the U.S. Chamber of Commerce in the ‘70’s and ‘80’s as “Dragon Slayings,” "hidden agenda exorcisms," and “Board Showdowns” – such an assembly’s intent is to persevere together until the Board’s ‘crazy-makers’ are removed, ineffective by-laws are revised, and the Board's consensus of the vision is reached). Since my first twenty years of WAMO Workshops were largely populated by dysfunctional local Chambers referred to me by the U.S. Chamber, I specialize in conducting these down-and-dirty, surgical ‘editing sessions’ that are never easy, are always invigorating, and range from my fastest session of two hours, to my longest session of fourteen hours.
@ WAMO Workbooks in Paperback and Hardbound:. Click here to go to the ‘shopping cart’ at Amazon.co
@ WAMO CD-ROMs: with all the digital worksheets, lists, spreadsheets, tests, exams, proposal template, proposal budget template, and everything else you need only start filling in instead of re-inventing the wheel. At $25/ea. including shipping, they’re probably the single best value in our product line.
@ Teleconferences to enroll organizations in one or all three of the WAMO-endorsed Passive Residual Perpetuating Revenue Streams (PRPRS's): We only recommend three, but they’re ‘doozies’ that raise money while satisfying passions of ‘environmental activism’, ‘travel-mania’, and ‘proactive personal risk management’.
@ Consultations with For-Profit businesses so they may augment their for-profit businesses with parallel non-profit corporations that are ‘separate and apart, but linked in spirit’: There are many instances where the two can work together synergistically, provide tax benefits, and yet avoid 'self dealing'.
@ Philanthropy Training: shows would-be philanthropy how to leverage their funds, establish the proper entities and instruments, and unleash the vast potential of the nonprofit parallel universe.
@ Develop instant curricula for Educational Facilities: Most colleges (and high schools) are turning out business students who only have half the financial picture because they’re ignorant about the nonprofit universe.
@ Financial Professionals’ Trainings w/CEU’s: for C.P.A.s, insurance professionals, estate attorneys, accountants, financial planners, and fundraising professionals so they may fulfill continuing education mandates in their respective industries while developing new billable counseling ‘services’ for their clients.
@ Grant-seekers’ and grant-makers’ personnel assessments: We can test and rank prospective new-hires, not only recommending one from a group of prospects, but we can identify their specific weaknesses and 'prescribe' WAMO modules of specific training to bring them 'up to speed' in those areas determined to be weak so they may 'hit the ground running.' We also test and train Board Trustees to empower them as effective ‘holders of your trust’. Grant-makers searching for a “train-test-and-certify program” need look no further. You no longer have to trust resume allegations, because we can quickly determine what they don’t know – crucial information for your due diligence.
@ A $95 self-paced package: For those ‘night school’, ‘part-time’, ‘toe-in-the-water individuals not financially, emotionally, or otherwise prepared for the $995 full two-day workshop immersion.
Your organization may be an ideal prospect for many of these services. If you think you could benefit from one or many, follow the hyperlinks for more details.
